We won't be taking new members to this site.
On July 1, just 51 days shy of our fifth anniversary, we'll be shutting the doors on this chapter of Inked-In. A Facebook group page has been set up at facebook/inkedinnetwork, and we invite you to join us and keep in touch with your I-I friends.
We wish you a jolly and creative New Year, and hope to hear from you soon at the new place. We'll keep a spot on the couch for you. And remember, the lights will always be on at The Burry Man Writers Center, just as they have twinkled merrily since 1997.
Our best to you, and much love,
Joseph and Jennifer

The stories portray Grant as a detective bringing his skills to bear on cases where the Civil War is a backdrop.
The book opens with “Under Reconstruction.” Ulysses S. Grant likes to start his day with…

The past few days can be explained by something that happened to me yesterday morning. I had bought two travel-cards for that day and today. As I stepped off the train at Waterloo and my ticket for the day somehow flew out of my hand. Everything turned to slow motion as it slipped between the train and the platform’s edge and on to the tracks. In a panic, I rushed to someone who worked there at the barrier’s and explained what had happened. He said I would have to buy another ticket…

A belated happy new year! I have just handed in my coursework today and have lots of news to share. Christmas, by the way, was wonderful – the best ever! Here’s me celebrating family-style with some of my new clothes (Primari aka…

He was trying to get into his car. He opened the door and closed it. Over and over again he opened the door and closed it. I counted ten times before he turned, took a few steps away from the car, turned back to the car, and stared at it. I figured maybe OCD.
On the other side of the street I saw in a driveway just like his, the house, just like his, she was kicking the left front tire of her car over and over, over and over again.
I took pictures of them.…

My nephew, Gabriel, sent me this. It is a drawing by Christie Nobel, a friend of his, of his brother, Julian. You may recognize the name Julian. He is the nephew of mine who died of CF and inspired the tradition of Chanukah prayers. Thought you would like a face to associate with the…
