Welcome to Inked-In

Inked-In connects writers, artists and musicians with each other.

We are a giant, ongoing novel, with humor and drama, pictures, music and video, stupid jokes and pathos and genuine friendships, and most of all supreme creativity. Getting members to mingle is part of our cunning plan to encourage collaboration, conviviality and community. And you never know where it will head next.

Welcome home!

I am quite thankful to have found this group of artists who are quite beautiful in their own right. You've all made this community on I2 quite supportive and welcoming, and at the same time, filled with frank exchange. Kinda the way good friends should be.

Moving....

Hello, my fellow artistic and literary peeps.

I have been away for quite a while, hammering away at the book, which is taking a much better shape; stronger and clearer somehow.

Also, we have all been suffering with the dreaded Swine flu the past two weeks. We all came down with it; myself, eldest son and youngest son had it the worst. Really unpleasant. I cannot remember the last time that I felt so poorly.
The really good news, though, (seeing as I am a girl), is that I have lost weight! Bein… Continue

Giving Thanks

A prisoner in a WWII concentration camp was praying. A fellow inmate asked him, "What are you doing?", to which he replied, "Giving thanks to G-d."

"Giving thanks?! What on earth is there to be thankful for in this place of unspeakable horror?"

"I'm thanking Him for not making me one of THEM."

Happy Turkey Day

On May 29 in 1912, fifteen women were dismissed from their jobs at the Curtis Publishing Company in Philadelphia, PA for dancing the "Turkey Trot" while on the job. There has been debate as to whether they were fired for dancing that particular dance or for the quality of their performance. Having been a wee mite at the time, I wasn't there, but I'd bet it was the quality of performance.

After all, the Curtis Publishing Company was the publisher of the Saturday Evening Post, which was founded b… Continue
